Larry Page, Co-founder of google, discovered google in his dream ?
Larry Page is an internet entrepreneur who co-founded Google Inc with Sergey Brin in 1998. He is the inventor of PageRank, Google's best known search ranking algorithm. He received Marconi prize in 2004.
During an interview Page recalled his childhood,”my house was usually a mess with computers, science and technology and popular science magazines all over the place”, an environment in which he immersed himself. He used to play saxophone and studied music composition while growing up. In an interview he said,” in some sense I feel like music training led to high speed legacy of Google for me.” From childhood he dreamt of starting a company and he was really interested in technology and business.
He came up with idea of Google during his sleep. When Larry Page was 22 years old graduate student, he had a dream in which he downloaded the whole web, and he gave a whole new way to internet using links.
In 1997, Massimo Marchiori of the university of Padua, Italy, spoke at an internet conference and Page who was already working on search was in the audience. Marchiori was working on project called hyper search, a program that scanned links between web sites instead of the text on them. Page said to Marchiori that he found it interesting. He spent the day with Marchiori discussing the future of the internet. Page said that he would like to develop the idea further and Page kept his promise.
